Trigger Shy

That is me with my trigger shots.  Pardon how I look in that pic.  I've been up since I got up last night to go to work, so I look like crap.

Well, after going yesterday for my ultrasound, we got the good news that both my follicles were 16mm.  They said I should do one more night of follistim and come back this morning for one last ultrasound to see where the follies were, then decide whether I'd trigger today or tomorrow.

After searching high and low to find someone to take me since I worked last night, I finally got my grandma to take me.  It was really kind of eerie how empty that place is on a Saturday morning!  I got the same ultrasound tech that I had yesterday, and she is awesome.  My follies are 18mm and 19mm! Yay!  So, the nurse said for me to trigger sometime today, then do the timed you-know-what 24 hours and 36 hours after said shot.

So, here's my question: would be be bad to do it at 34 hours?  I'm kind of not wanting to get up at 2am to do the deed, if you know what I mean.  My other question is: how long does the trigger stay in my system?  I know that it will turn a pregnancy test positive, so I don't want to get a false positive whenever I test.  Should I just test in a week or so to see if it's out of my system, or is that too soon?

I love having you knowledgeable ladies as resources!

Krystal, dtd at 34 hours shouldn't make a difference. I'd probably dtd again in the morning too. :) As for the trigger, I think it can stay in your system up to 10dpo. So i'd start testing at 10pdo and if it gets lighter after that then its probably a bfn but if it gets darker as the days go on,,then bfP!! Good luck and prayers!!

As your other noter said the ovidrel stays in your system up to 10 days. When I do timed intercourse I don't really time it to the hour. I triggered friday night so we had timed intercourse that night, saturday, and sunday, but when we were ready. I wonder if it makes a difference.

I highly doubt that an hour or two will make a huge difference. Though, to be technical, YOU wouldn't actually HAVE to wake up at 2... just DH (lol, j/k).
And I was told 10dpo is about the end of the trigger...

Good luck!!!

Holy Shit, how did I miss this?

Timing the deed... Usually, I trigger at night (so, say Friday night) then we do the deed the next night and following morning (so, Sat night and Sun morning). Not really timing to exactly 24 and 36. We have gotten knocked up twice with this kind of timing.

The Ovidrel CAN stay in up to 10 days. Personally, for me, it's always out by 9 dpo and I've had true positives as early as 10dpo. Actually had beta at 11dpo for this one, so pee stick positive had to have been 9 or 10 dpo. (Which is 10 or 11 past trigger). Sometimes when I want to be SUPER sure (not that it helps at all, but I like keeping Dollar Tree in business), I get 14 Dollar Tree tests and take them everyday starting from trigger and watch them fade out (then hopefully fade back in!), to be sure the Ovidrel is really gone. But that's a little crazy.

I SOOOO hope this is it for you guys!

Also, I will tell you, TIC sucks and after a few months, G and I did resort to collecting and pouring for the morning/36 hour deed...
